Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Kaizen Gems ("we," "us," operated by Maikurumoto Gems LLC, doing business as Maikurumoto Gems) collects and how it's used.
1. Local-only use
If you use Kaizen Gems without creating an account, all of your data (stones, entries, notes, settings) stays entirely on your own device, in your browser's local storage and, if you choose to link one, a backup file on your own computer. We never receive or see this data.
2. If you create an account
Creating an account (for cross-device sync) requires an email address and password. Your account data, the same stones, entries, and settings you'd otherwise keep locally, is stored in our database (provided by Supabase) so it can sync across your devices. Each account's data is private and access-controlled: only you can read or write your own data.
3. Payment information
If you subscribe, payment is handled entirely by Paddle.com, our merchant of record. We never receive or store your card number or other payment details. We do receive your subscription status (active, trialing, canceled, etc.) so the app knows whether sync is enabled for your account.
4. What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't use tracking advertising cookies. We don't share your data with third parties except the service providers described here (Supabase for hosting/database, Paddle for payments, Cloudflare for web hosting), each of whom only processes data as needed to provide their part of the Service.
5. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account exists. If you'd like your account and synced data deleted, contact us at the email below.
6. Your data, your control
You can export a full backup of your data at any time (Settings → Backup & Data → Export backup). You can request deletion of your account and synced data at any time.
7. Security
Synced data is stored with access controls that restrict each account to only its own data. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
8. Children's privacy
Kaizen Gems isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted here with an updated date.
